Heavy rain has been falling since Saturday night, end the conditions at the Territorial lamp are far from pleasant. Up to the present, however, the work has not been greatly interfered with. On Saturday night the back portion of a five-roomed liouse in Coote Road, Napier, was gutted by fire. The occupants, Mr. and Mrs. Carson, were absent at the time. The damage is probably about £200. The Rev. A. Hodge has been appointed president of the Napier Ministers' Association.
