Recitation In Character (boy or girl, 10 to 14). —May C. Brown, Dunedin, 82: Edna Pedder, Timaru, 77; Gwen Chapman, Christchurch, 76. • • , Instrumental Trio.—The Dunedin competitors scored an easy win. The judge said that their performance was remarkably fine, and quite a treat to listen to. English Ballad for Ladies (Open Contest).—Miss F. C. Cothor, St. Albans, 145; Miss E. Richards, Invercargill, 141; Miss E. Baird, Ashburton, 138.
