(By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright.) « CHAMBERS OF COMMERCE CONFERENCE SEVERAL RESOLUTIONS PASSED. Hobart, March 19. The Chambers of Commerce Conference has concluded. Several resolutions were passed regarding tile increasing of trade within tile Empire by means of preferential tariffs, and awakening public interest by ascertaining whether foreign imported goods cannot be made in tho Empire or by our Allies, 'trading with the enemy «'as also discussed, and it was decided to request the Government to legislate lor the appointment of custodians to take over money, dividends, and shares payable to an enemy alien, and to ensure that no moiioy reaches enemy countries. A resolution was also passed that steps be taken to prevent members unwittingly trading with tho enemy by means of the circulation of all communications considered of enemy origin. The Capo Town Chamber of Commerce Was thanked for facilitating the forwarding of Australasian goods in German interned steamers. It was agreed that the next congress bo held in Brisbane in May, 1916.
