HOTEL FIRE INQUIRY

CORONER RESERVES HIS DECISION. (By Telctrraph.—Press Association.) Oamaru, March 19. The inquiry into the Star and Garter Hotel fire was continued- to-day and the taking of evidence concluded at five o'clock. Mrs. Harvey (lessee) was examined at great length as to lier business and financial affairs, and a great quantity of other evidence was brought_ forward. Samuel Clark was re-examined by the Coroner as to Miss Telfer's statements that he had made improper overtures to her, and characterised them as absolute and emphatic lies. Tho Coroner said some of the evidence was so extraordinary that he would, take time to review it, and he reserved his decision till Wednesday.
