The carrying capacity of all roads has been increased : in order to cope with tho enormous quantities of munitions transporting to tlie front: thousands of motor vehicles will also be employed. In addition to Britain's new Armj of a million, which has been moving across the Channel during the past of months, Franca has a million men splendidly equipped and ready to take tho field at a minute's notice. Artillery brigades have been augmented, and a thousand new guns parked at convenient positions ready for immediate use. Some American authorities regard the presence of a German submarine off the Galway Coast as a proof that tho new German types havo cruising range wide enough to make a dash across tha Atlantio.
