PEACE IN THE FAR EAST
BRITISH GENERAL'S IMPRESSION OF THE JAPANESE. (Rec. March 18, 8.5 p.m.) London, March 18. General Bernardiston, commanding the British forces at Tsingtao, expresses his admiration for the Japanese, whose army is an excellent fighting machine. The men are well-disciplined, possessing ample initiative. _ The Japanese have the greatest possible admiration for Britain, and realise that as long as Japan and Britain are friends there will be peace in the Far East, and that is what they want. —("Times" and Sydney "Sun" Services.)
