SUPREME COURT AN APPEAL In the Supreme Court yesterday morning his Honour Mr. Justice Chapman heard an appeal from the decision of Mr. J. W. Poynton, S.M., in a Levin licensing caso in ivhicli John Bagrie was informant and Matthew J. Sulian, licensee of the La/in Hotel, defendant. Sulian was charged with unlawfully keeping liis premises open for the sale of liquor at a time (10.30 p.m. 011 July 2, 1913) when sucli premises were required by law to bo closed. The Magistrate, after hearing the evidence, dismissed the information, and the Crown now appealed' against this decision on the ground that it was erroneous in law. Mr. H. H. Ostler, of the Crown Law Office, appeared for the Crown, while Sir. T. M. Wilford appeared for tho respondent. After hearing legal argument, his Honour reserved decision.
