Duncan) stat- ' ed that during the year one junior so- . ciety was added to the register, and ■ the affiliation of two senior and four | junior societies is expected early in the new year. There were now 186 members, of whom 165 were Church members, and 614 juniors, many of whom , were junior .members of their respective Churches.: The enthusiasm of the president (the Rev. P. J. Cossum) has 1 done much' to advance the work of the union during the "year. The Seamen's j Committee 'continues to do good work by providing tea and holding a. Gospel . service each Sunday evening. The C;E. ( Societies contributed to missions, per . medium of their own' funds, the sum of ; £139. The repOrt was adopted by the meeting. The balance-sheet, showing a credit for the year, was also adopted. The officers" elected for the ensuing ; year were ■ as follow: —President, the Rev. J. H. White; vice-presidents, ' Messrs. L. J. Brabin and J. Haddy; >secretary, Mr. J. N. Duncan, treasurer, Miss B. Keys; convenor seamen's committee, Mr. D. M'Callum; junior superintendent. Miss. F. Harrison. The Seamen's Committee report showed -a year of activity and usefulness. There was a small credit balance shown also in connection with this work, and it was stated that' Mr. M'Callum and his committee- congratulated on the good work, accomplished- An address and farewell message were given by the retiring president. Last night-, in.,.the Vivian. Street Baptist. CHurch, there Was a missionary rally, at'which addresses' were given by. the Rev. A. E Hunt (a missionary for fifteen years in Samoa and Papua), and the Rev., 0Burnett. To-day (junior's day) there will be a consecration service at 4.15 p.m., and an- address will be delivered by Mr. W. P. Lascelles. The annual tea will be held at 5.45 p.m., and,both these meetings will be held in the Vivian Street Schoolroom. At 7.30;p,.m. there will be a junior demonstration in. St. John's Schoolroom. /
