Hie "Messagero" says the Allies havd planned a military ■expedition to take Constantinople, and asks: "Does the arrangement exclude Italy entirely, or almost entirely, from that partition in Turkey which would be the basis of arrangement in tlie Eastern Mediterranean? This would be a grave declaration for Italy, whose policy lacks the promptness necessary for great achievements." The "Corriere d'ltalia" advises war. at any cost, and remarks that Italian' 1 mobilisation is intended for the defence of Italian interests against Austria's attempts to prevent Italy maintaining the position she is entitled) to in the surrounding' seas. Tho "Lavanto Italiano," the Socialist organ, declares that Austria is prepared to cede Trentino and Trieste, the hinterland of Italy, in return for a continuance of neutrality. Maurice the author, who is undertaking a mission in Italy, announces that the Belgians henceforth will have tho fullest sympathy with the Italians.
