RETURNED TROOPERS

o (By Telegraph,—Press Association.) Dunedln, March 16. Of the returned troopers from Egypt-, ■ten who _ deserted at Albany were sent north this morning. Prior to their departure some excitement was caused by on® member trying to mako his escape from the central batteries. He was caught in a hotel. The other two members who had been brought back on account of misconduct in. Egypt have been discharged, as they had received punishment for their offence by the military authorities in Egypt. Of twenty-two invalided soldiers who ■were admitted to Dunedin Hospital, five have been discharged from' the institution as totally recovered. These men will be sent liomO on leave. Thirteen have been detained in the hospital, and one sent for special treatment. None of the cases is associated with the diseases that occasion much talk.
