FIRE AT LYTTELTON

TWO HOUSES DESTROYED. • (By TeleßraDh.—Press Association.) , ; Chrlstohurch, March 15. Fire at Lyttelton early- yesterday morning.'destroyed two houses on Governor's Bay Road, occupied by A. V. Williams and J. 15. Thompson, respectively, and owned by A. Jones, Christchurch. Williams's house was the first to go and the occupants had a narrow escape, Mr. Williams , being slightly singed. The water supply was inadequate, and tho. brigade was unable ■to prevent the flames spreading.
