MAIN CITY ROLL
CONFIRMED BY CITY COUNCIL. The Mayor (Mr. J. P. Luke), Councillors J. Fitzgerald, R. Fletcher, Jas. Godbsr, Geo. Frost, L. M'Kenzie, M. F. Luckie. A. H. Hindmarsli, and W. J, Thompson were present at tnat statutory meeting of the City Co'unoil held yesterday afternoon to confirm the main city municipal electors' roll, to bo used in connection with the elections on April 28. The number of electors on the new main roll is 32,333. The supplementary . roll does not close until March 31. The. last day on which lists of signatures rqay be deposited in connection with £he petition for a general Saturday. half-holiday is March 27. In order to ay.oid finy unpleasantness .or vain regrets these dates should be caro fully noted by. citizens. It iyili; be electors' own fault jf they ascertain on • election, day that their names have'been struck off the roll.. A staff "of'clerks is now .employed ' to register the name of eyeryone entitled to vote, and a'call _,at tho Town Hall is all that is needed to provide against any possible error.
