BAKERS' BREAD
DECREASE IN DEMAND. ,■

Christchurch bakers state that during the past two months the consumption or bread in the city has decreased 20 per cent. on .an average, each rise in price being marked by a decreased demand. A prominent baker states that the outlook is bad) and he thinks a further rise' is certain, making bread a shilling per large loaf. The trouble is that the price of flour keeps increasing. Others say that people are learning to economise by making their own bread and using moro fruit.
