Mr. Tudor (Federal Minister for Cus* toms), discussing the unwarranted high price of bread, stated that Australia held sufficient wheat for seven months' consumption • and enough seed for 10,000,000 acres. -*> ____ SHORTAGE OF SEED. The Government proposes to buy sheep at the saleyards and sell the mutton to the Imperial Government. TASMANIA'S FRUIT EXPORT. Hobart, March 11. The Secretary of State for the Colonies has cabled to the Governor that the Imperial Government has taken all shipping space except that taken over by ilie Commonwealth. The cable adds that Lord Inchcape, head of several shipping companies, expects to interfere as little as possible with the regular fruit trade, but the congestion in the meat trade must be relieved. A meeting of Welsh Liberal members of Parliament passed a resolution requesting an adjournment of the Bill to give effect to tlie_ postponement of the Welsh Disestablishment Bill until after the Eastor recees. There were several notices of motion to reject the Bill.
The Free Church Conference passed a resolution protesting against tne postponement of the Disestablishment Bill.
