•A; good deal of interest was taken - in - the tennis match Wellington Ladies' Seniors v. Brougham Hill Seniors, which resulted in' a win for the former by 4 rubbers to 2, 10 sets to 6, 79 games to 69. Wellington Ladies and Brougham Hill Ladios thus tie for the senior championship and the play-off should result in -an interesting contest. Tho matches were 'commenced on Saturday morning, and the surprise of the day was the defeat of Miss Travers by Mrs. Goldie. Tho following are detailed results (the names of Wellington players reading .first): —Miss Williams v. Miss Davis, 6—o, 6 —4; Miss Travers v. Mrs. Goldie,' 6-2, 3—6, 6—6; Mrs. Grady v. Mrs. Howie, '6—4, I—6,1 —6, 6—5; Miss Hannah v. Miss Morgan, 6—5, 6—3; Misses Williams and Hannah v> Miss Davis and Mrs. Goldie, 6—2, 5—3, 6—3; Mrs. Grady and Miss Hannah v. Mrs. Howe and Miss Morgan, o—6, 6-3,. 5—6. '
