LIVE STOCK SALES.
The . New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., report:—At the Dannerirke 6ale on Friday a good yarding of aheep came forward, and a medium one of cattle. With the exception, of rats, which sold at lato rates, cattle were hard to quit. Bidding for sheep alEo was very dragging. . We, however, with the exception of one pen, cleared the whole of our entry. We quote :-Two-tooth ewes, 16s. 7d., 135.; mixed-age ewes, 13s. 6d;, lis., 2p., 10b. 10d.; mixed-age' ewes (low condition), is.; four and six-tooth ewes, 16s. 2d.; lambs (small), 6s. 6d., 65., 46. 9d.
: Messrs. Dalgety and Company, Limited, report having held their usual weekly sale at Levin on Friday last, when a good yarding of , both sheep and. cattle came forward; Among the sheep were a number of lines of aj?ed and inferior ewes, and bidding for this class of stock was 'dull. Young ewes were in good demand as also .were good lambs and wethers. There wa3 a good inquiry for steers, but cows and heifers were hard to quit. The principal sales effected were as under:— 250 good shorn lambs, 9s. sd. to 9s. 7d.; 160 medium shorn lambs, 75.; 220 medium shorn lambs, Bs. 4d.; medium woolly lambs, ss. Id.; cull lambs, ss. to ss. Bd.; two and four-tooth ewes, 16s. 6d, to 16e. 9d.; sixtooth ewes, ,17s. 6d.; four and five-year-old .ewes (low condition), .Us.- to 12s. 6d.; a 'mixed line of 2CO two and'four-tooth wethers made 18s. 3d.; fat cows, £6 6a. to £6 '10s.";. vealers, 2Es.; cows with 100 per cent, calves, £6 10s.; cull. cows end calves, £3 55.; eighteen-month steers. £4 4s. to £4 10s.; weaner steers. 2Bs. f>d.; weaner heifers, 315.; three-year-old steers, £6 ss.

Dalgety on£ Company, limited, Master ton,-report having held a very successful clearing sale on account of Mr. J. 11. Hill,, of Pahiatua. There was a good attendance from the surrounding districts, and 6tock came forward in splendid condition, and met with good competition. The following satisfactory prices were realised:—Sheep: Four and sii-tooth ewes, IBs. 5d.; four and five-year iewes. 15s. 9d.; shorn w.f. lambs. Bs. 3d., Bs. 9d., to 95.; Bomney rams, 1' guinea. Cottle: Two-year steers, £5; dairy heifers, £2 10s. to £4 lis.; cows and calves, £3 14e. 6d.; eighteen-month steers, £3 13s. fid.: weaners, 335. 6d.; dairy cows, £5 lCfi. to £9; springing heifers; £3 17s. 6d. Horsos: Three-year filly (broken). £26; tiro-rear filly, £14; spring cart gelding, £13 155.; harness gelding, £17 155.; pony, £5, 10s. The implements and sundries sol<l ; well up to current rates.
Messrs. Dalgety and Company. Limited, ifesterton, report having held their usual .weekly sale .at Pahiatua. There was a fair attendance, and a large entry of sheep. A good clearance was made at the following prices Mixed-aged ewes, 17s. od.: two-tooth wethers. 155.; mixed-aged ewes, 13s, 7d.; four and five-year ewea, 12a. Messrs. Dalgety and Company, Limited, report having held their usual weekly sale In the Dannevirke yards on Friday last, when they.offered a modium entry of all classes of sheep and cattle to a, fair attendance of buyers. In sheep the bulk of the yarding throughout consisted of low-conditioned aged ewes end medium lambs. '■ We were successful in Quitting the bulk of our entries at prices "on a par with late rates. Fat cattle were in rattier better-demand than last sale's prices, but 6tore ■ cattle and young cattle met with only medium competition. We quote as follows:—Low-conditioned full-mouth ewes, is., Bs., to 9a.; cull lambs, 36. to 4s.medium shorn lambs, ss. 2d. to fa. Turnbull and Co., Ltd., report having held their usual weekly stock sale in their Oarterton sale yards on Friday last. A good yarding-of sheep and cattle came forward well above advertised numbers. There woe a good attendance of buyers, and competition woo keen throughout the sale, consequently we had ■a good clearance at the following rates:— Fat ewes, Ift.; fat lambs, 13s. 3d.; fat and forward wethers, 15s. Messrs. A. H. Atkinson and Co., Ltd., Felldtug, sold on Friday a small yarding of pigs at prices lower than last week. There was very little competition for any lines offering. Fruit sold well, some 3CO cases being disposed of. Potatoes were focicr.
