FIRE IN A HOTEL
BOARDER BURNT TO DEATH. • (By Teleftiaph.—Press Association.) Nelson, March 4. The Royal Hotel, a three-story wooden building in Bridge Street, owned by Dodaou and Son and occupied by B. Cann, lioensee, was gutted early this morning. Flames in the back portion spread rapidly. Some of the inmates had only, bare time to escape.' Later on a boarder named Frederick Bloomfield, aged 57, a native ol Australia, was missing, and his charred remain Were found on the floor joists. The insurances on the hotel were £500 in the Standard office' and £100 in the Alliance. ■
