WAIRARAPA WINS THE SHIELD TBy. Telegraph.—Special Correspondent.) Maslerton, March 4. The Wellington Provincial Championships were decided to-day in showery weather. There was a good attendance, including a large number of visitors from Wellington. , „ The M'Villy Shield was wrested from Wellington.by one point by Wairarapa, the points being—Wairarapa, 42; Wellington, 41;' Athletic (Wellington), 31; Civil Sorvice (Wellington), 22; Victoria College (Wellington), 18; Manawatu, 3. T. J. Byrne, Wellington, won the Pollock Challenge Cup, G. Heley (A.C.) won the Guise Challenge Cup, J. Wilton, Wellington, won the Bannister Challenge Cup. The athletes were entertained by too Wairarapa Association at the Empire Hotel, wnere the cup's were presented by Mr. G. R, Sykos, M.P. The Wellington team returned by the evening train.
