METHODIST CONFERENCE.

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) Chrlstohuroh, March 4, At the Methodist Conference to-day Mr. J. Veale presented the balancesheet of the home mission fund. - This showed that the income for last year was £5605, and expenditure was £5445. The estimates for the current year were: Income, £5792; expenditure, £5978 14s. j deficit, £226 14s. Tho Rev. G. Bond was unanimously appointed general treasurer of the fund, and Mr. J. Veale honorary treasurer; The Rev. Geo. Bond moved the committee's recommendation that the thanks of the conference be. presented to the Rev. G. Brooke on gaining the position of secretary for home missions and that he be appointed for another year. This was carried unanimously. _In further dealing with the extension of the term of Ministerial appointments the Rev. C. H. Laws moved,: 'That the majority required to carry «ueh appointments in conference be reduced to' 55 per cent." This was carried by 141 votes to 4.
