For the benefit of the Press and a few people interested in high-class kinematography, there was a special run through of a strikingly romantic "Aquifa" star film yesterday morning at the People's 'Picture Palace, where the picture, is to be shown to the publio as from Monday next. The title of the picture is "The Millionaire Brigand," and the world of quick.moving romance and tragedy that it opens out in its four parts (4000 ft. _of film) is fully in accord with the -titlo. _ The opening shows a pretty_ intrigue in the castle of an old millionaire in an imaginary State in Europe. In his employ, the millionaire has a rascally secretary,' who, with devilish subtlety, schemes ito get the old man's money. Between him and his object are the millionaire's rather wild son, and his ward, a charming'young lady, in love with the son. To get rid of the son, the false seoretary engages the services of an unscrupulous dancer, who at a ball commits a robbery and places 'the incriminating bank'notes in the pockets of the millionaire's son. The robbery being discovered, the police appear on the sceue, and are about to I search every guest . when the fatal pocketbook falls to the ground. Seeing ; the evidence so black against him, the young man bolts from the castle and falls in with a gang of brigands in the mountains, of whom he becomes the chief. In the meantime his aped father, has had a stroke, and is testified to. as dead. When lying in state, the secretary sees the eyes of the supposed dead man open, and as his restitution to the world would ruin his plans, he promptly claps the coffin lid oil in an attempt to smother him, but an old and faithful servant witnesses the act,' releases his old master, and hides hiri away. Tho secretary is about to force mar-

riage on the ward, when the son meets the old sen 1 ant, and is conducted to his father. There the perfidy of the secretary is exposed, and the whole brigaid band advance upon the castle just in time to save the girl from the clutches of the secretary. In the struggle, tho castle lias been set on firo, but the secretary is disposed of once and for all, and the arrival of the military find the "millionaire brigand" restored to his own, whilst the dead body of the' arcliscoundrol is passed off as the brigand chief. The photography and acting is of the highest oi'dor, and every scene has the charm of a perfcct setting.
