The Canterbury Grand Lodge of the United Ancient Order of Druids' twentyfifth annual session opened to-day. The Grand President, Bro. W.J.W. Neate, presided,, and was by the Grand Ixklgo offioers, Grand Vice-Presi-dent, Bro. R. Walls, Grand Secretary/ Bro. T. Walker, Grand Treasurer, Bro. J. Jowsey, Grand Guardian, Bro. J. Baty, Past Grand President, Bro. E. Muchmoro. The Grand President welcomed Bro. J. Grant, Grand Secrotary of the Constitution, Grand V ico-Presidenfc Bro. Crawford, of tlio Otago Southern Constitution, Bro. J. S. Adcano, P.S. Waitomata Lodge, Auckland.' Tho Grand President, in bis address, said l that a largo number of the members of tho Order in Canterbury had taken np a,rms in defence of the Empire, and a special 'contribution would bo asked for to koop 'such'', members'' financial dwing their period of service. Although tho Order had not made numerical progress iu Canterbury during tho pact year, tho finance were in a most healthy condition, tho funds invested earning an average of per ccnfc.
