tribute to public service COMMISSIONERS. (By Tele sere Dh.—Press Chrlstchuroh, March 3. The presentation of a large photo* graphic group of all officers of the Telegraph and lelephone Department was made this evening to the Superintendent (Mr. Talbot) in Christchurch. Responding to tho remarks made by Mr. Mansell at tho presentation, Mr. Talbot paid a high tribute to the Commissioners of the Public Service. He Stated that the Chief Commissioner, in his opinion, was one of the whitest men he had met with, and tho Department was extremely fortunate in having such ux able man at the head of affairs.
