PRINTERS' PICNIC
. Tho staff of Watkins, Tyer/ and Tolan held their annual picnic at Maidstone Pari: oil Saturday. About ono hundred employees and their friends were present. An excellent luDcheon .was, sorved on decorated tables under a cool and sliady awning, after which a photograph of the party was taken. The sports events resulted a 6 follow: — Apprentices' Race: C. Tattle, 1; L. Ureyer, 2, Men's Sack Race: N. Patching, 1. Ladies' Sack Race: Miss TTrquhart, 1. Ladies' Nail Driving Competition: Mrs. Nelson, 1; Mrs. Thyne, 2. Watkins, Tyer, and Tolan Handicap (120yds.)—First heat: G. Nelson, 1; W. White, 2; C. Tattle. 3. Second heat: B. Roberts, 1; I. Forter, 2: H. White, 31 Filial: W. White, 1; Gf. Nelson, 2; F. Porter, 3. Open Hahdicap (ladies): Miss Barraclough, 1; Miss' Luke, 2. Thread-the-Needle Competition: Miss Cox and Air. M'Donald. Married Men's Handicap: F. Porter and A. Dryden, dead heat. Ladies' Egg-and-Spoon Bace: Miss Pratt. Men's Open Handicap: J. I!. Molloy, 1; C. Tat tie, _ 2. W., T. and T. Ladies' Handicap (75yds.): Miss Anderson. 1 : Miss Luke. 2. A gticsmr-g competition (funds to go to Belgian relief), was won by J. Molloy. At tho conclusion of the day's sports the' iprae* -were presented by Mrs. L. T.
