APPOINTMENT OF, A BUYING AGENT. (Rec. Fobraary 26, 11.40 p.m.) London, February 26. In the House of Commons the Government's appointment of Mr. Montagu Meyer as solo timber buyer to tho War Office was hotly criticised. Meyer receives two and. a half per cent, on the value of purchases, and this commission has already reached an amount of £15,000.
