FAREWELL VISIT OF NATIONAL SECRETARY. "Mr. Alex. Jameson, M.A., Y.M.C.A. National Secretary, wilio s leaves New Zealand for Tasmania early next month, was on Monday evening in the Y.M.C.A. Assembly Hall by a large company of friends. An excellent programme of musical and elocutionary items was provided, the .following contributing Misses Eva Smith, .Fix., and Lissaok, and Messrs. Allright and Exton. Mr. Wm. Allanj who presided, Mt. J. P. Luke, Mayor of Wellington, and the Hon. J. G. W. Aitken each spoke of the fine record of service put lip by the guest of the' evening, both in Wellington and the various association centres. 1 Mr. Jameson most feelingly replied referring to his work especially in the smaller centres, where good progress had been made.. He had not done so much as he hoped to have done, yet tlio movement to which he had the honour to belong was destined to live in the community as a force for righteousness. He. was • leaving New Zealand, with regret, yet 'his heart would be right here. On Sunday. Mr. Jameson addressed a large gathering of men at the association rooms, and in the evening motored ont to Treniham and addressed the soldiers in the Y.M.C.A. Hall, on the .Highland motto "Stand fast, stand firm, stand sure." The address was much appreciated hv the large crowd of men wiio gathered for the servico.
