ANNUAL CONFERENCE. (By TeleETßOJli.—Press Association.) Fellding, February 23. The Druids' Conference is being held liere. ■ The delegates were last night officially welcomed by tie Mayor (Mr. A. M. Ongley). The conference is presided over by the Grand President (Bro. Alf. Thompson). Last night was mostly devoted to the president's address, discussion thereon, and the balance-sheet. The Government actuaries' report for the period ended' 1911 showed that the order had made slight progress in its value, which stood at 17s. 2d. per head at that time. . , The president's address, said that many Druids had gone to the front, and, owing to such a largo number going, the new insurance scheme had been greatly endangered. The executive had finally decided to unload the greater portion of its liability by reinsurance. The order at the end of last year had 9871 financial members. The gain for the year in the sick and funeral j, um J was £3300, and in the insurance hind um.
