Scots has obtained a rule nisi in divorce-from his wife,, a daughter of Mrs. Annie Besant, the theosophist, on the ground that she changed her religion • to the Roman Catholic Church, went to England, and refused to rejoin hjm. Japan insists that China shall negotiate the whole of her demands, but China is prepared to negotiate twelve.
