JAPAN'S DEMANDS ON CHINA
NO MODIFICATION CHINA TEMPORISING By Telceraph—Press Association—Oapyriglit (Roc. February 17, 5.15 p.m.) London, February 16. The Chinese Minister at Tokio has informed Peking that Japan declines to modify, her demands. China is determined not to negotiate immediately, excepting in connection . with Eastern Mongolia and Southern Manchuria. . At the conclusion of the war she will be willing to discuss the demands relating to Shantung, but her present disposition is resolutely to reject all other demands which she may consider to be calculated to violate her independence. —"Times" and Sydney "Sun" services.
