Kirk; captain, Mr. Graham Pnnglo; secretary,' Mr. Whitehead; treasurer,. ■Mr. Jiidd;' committee,- Messrs. F. L. Simpson,'A.-J. Hobbs, L. Powell, and •J. M. Dawson.,. The report stated that the membership of the club was now 117, of whom .46 were - ladies. W. Whitehead won tho men's championship,, and Miss A. Gaynor the ladies E. Glennie was the winner of the Atkins Challenge' Cup competition. Otlier prize-winners were Miss Rothschild and F. L. Simpson, and P. A. Glennie. A mixed foursome competition was won by Miss Rothschild and Mr. A. Hobbs. The monthly buttons (men) were won by G. Cook, P. A. Glennie, G; F. Judd, and E. Crawford, and P. A. Glennie, by winning the greatest number (three), is entitled to hold the Silver Ball. The monthly buttons (ladies) were won by Miss E. Gaynor, Miss Bodmin, and Miss M. Gaynor. No fewer than eleven members of the club had been accepted in the Expeditionary. Forces. _ There was an enthusiastic attendance last evening at Petone at the first meeting of the newly-formed branch of the National Reserve. It was decided to apply for the'.use'of the Petone Brill Hall for drilling, jand, provided tho building can be obtained, to make Tuesday in each week the drill night, commencing next Tuesday. The secretary (Mr. W. Beale) intimated-that in reply to his letter the Minister of Defence (the Hon. J. Allen) had written to the effect that he would consult with the District. Commandant regarding the requirements of the l'etoiio branch, ana communicate the result later'on. It was decided to ask Sergb.Major Ryan to act as drill instructor and to invite' Col. Porter to address the members of the Reserve next week. Bro. Greenwood, A.D., presided over the quarterly meeting of the Poneke Lodge, TJ.A.0.D.,, held last evening at Petone. The bards reported sixmembers on the sick fund, and their qick nav was accordingly passed for payment. P-A. Bro. Goble, of tlio Oroua Lodge, was elected a honorary member of this lodge. The lodge's delegate to the Royal Arch Chapter reported proceedings ,at that meeting, vl icb wasi listened to with interest. P.A. Bro. Gilmour-was elected a trustee'of tbo lodge.
