ANNUAL PICNIC; lie . annual picnic of the employees or Messrs. John Duthio. and Co. Ltd. was \held last Saturday i r .at Balgownie'° Nai Nai, the residence of the Hon! John Duthie, M.L.O. Employees and friends numbering about 200 loft the Oity in motor conveyances at" 9.50 a.m., and arrived at Nai Nai'about one hour later. On arrival at Balgownie all were made welcome by the Hon; John Duthie, M.L.C., and the grounds, which were looking, at .their best, were greatly admired by all, one of the chief attractions being a row on the lake. I Races for young and old were included in a complete sports' programme, the results being as follow:— 100 Yards Handicap.—C. Turnbull, 1: E. ' ' Married Men's Race.—J. S. Butler, 1; R. Bishop, 2.. 220 Yards Zfandioap.—S. Anton, 1; L Dew, 2. Married Ladies.—Mrs. Anton, 1. Wheelbarrow Race.—Miss M'Gill and C. Turnbull, 1. Single Ladies' Race.—Miss James, 1. Cigarette, Raoe.—Mia3 Gordon and R. Lush, 1. Nail Driving'.—Mrs. Randall, 1. Guessing.—Mi6s A. Levy. Toys, fruit, and lollies were liberally distributed among the children throughout the day. Following afternoon tea was the presentation of prizes to the winners. -Mr. J. Smitten performed the ceremony, in the absence of Mr. W. G. Duthie. Cheers were afterwards given for theHon. John Duthie, M.L.C., and for Mr. Smitton.

Andrews, hon. secretary, comprised a hard-working committee, who are to be congratulated on the way the programme for the day was <S§rijsd out. ? The catering was successfully carried out by Mrs, 06car Johnson.
