IBy Teleerapn.—Brass AfsoclatloaJ Napier, February 15. The swimming championships were continued this evening. There was again a good , attendance of spectators,- and some exciting racing resulted. Some good times .were put up, but no records were lowered. The results are:— 100 ! - Yards Inter-Club Handicap—o. Davidson (Christchurch), Bsec., 1; L. Grant (Hawera), 3sec., 2; C. Kivcll (Stratford), Bsec.j 3. Time, 72 l-sscc. 66 2-3 Yards' Ladies' Inter-Club Handicap—Miss D. Farquhar (Ponsonby),' scr., .1; Miss L. Kemp (Otago), 9scc., 2; Miss L. Gordon (Wanganui), 3sec., 3. Time, 50sec. 100 Yards Amateur Championship— C. Atkinson (Canterbury), 1; C. Welson : (Auckland), 2; M. E. Stranger (Auckland),. 3; H. V. Jerred (Canterbury), 4. Time, 62 3-osee. The first four to finish were taken on account of Welson swimming under protest. Diving Championship—C. ■ M'Lean (Hawse's Bay), 1; G. Scott (Hawke's Bay), 2: L. Poison (Canterbury), 3. 100 Yards Breast-Stroke Inter-Club Handicap—F. Limbrick (Napier), 1: A. Russell (Napier), 2; S. Leader (Napier), 3.. Time, 92seo. 66 • 2-3 Xards Schoolboys' Championship—B, Carpenter (Hastings), 1; F. Murray (Napier), 2; C. Garrett (WelTime, 48sec. 880 Yards Amateur Championship— C. Welsoii (Auckland), 1; C. Bowen (Hawke'.s Bay), 2; C. Atkinson (Canterbury), 3; F. Thomas (Wanganui), 4. I'. Seymour (Hawke's Bay) and E. J. Dawson ; (Otago) also started, but did not finish. Welson won by fifteen lengths, the other two being a long way behind. Welson's time was 12min. 36sec., and Bowen's 12min. 52 2-ssec., both under the standard.

Stevenson (Napier),. 2. Water Polo Championship (first match)—Hawke's Bay defeated Canterbury by 5 goals to 2j after an exciting inatch. PROTEST AGAINST '£ WINNER. . (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) . /. Napier, February 15. A: protest has been lodged by the manager of the ! Canterbury swimming team against C. Welson, the winner of the mile championship on Saturday last, on the ground that, he continued to be employed as a professional after his reinstatement as an amateur.
QUARTER OF A MILE RACE. • A"44oyds: race was got off by the Worser Bay Swimming and Life-Saving Club on Saturday last, for a trophy presented by Mr. J. P. Luke. The race resulted aB follows:—L, Green 1' H Silver, 2; L. ■ Silver, 3. Also started: fcr. Green, V. Allen, and B. Latta.
