THE RECENT FIGHTING IN EGYPT
SINAI REGION CLEARED OP THE ENEMY (Rec. February 15, 9.20 p.m.) Londotli February 15. The "Daily Chronicle's" Cairo correspondent says that British policy, in dealing fairly and openly' with ■ the Egyptian people, in • contra-distinction to Turkish duplicity and muddle, has' yielded excellent results. Tho Egyptions remain tranquil and orderly, arid the newspapers express deep satisfaction that Egypt is so efficiently protected. The defeat at Tor (in tho Gulf of Suez), clears the Turks from the southern portion of the Sinai Peiinsula. The victory has a greater significance owing to tho situation of Tor, the port being the biggest quarantine station in the 'world. AH the Mecca pilgrims must pass through. Tho hero of tho Tusua attack _was a pilot named Hardingc. He was severely wounded in the arm and leg, but refused to leave his post. Ho cried: "Bring me a chair. Prop me lip. I'll see you through." His log has sinco been amputated.
