Land of Song, who' appropriated the St. George's Stakes at \Caullield on Saturday, is an Irish bred horse and races in the colours of Mr. N. Ealkner, of Melbourne. Prior to coming to this 'country he won the Irish Derby end his owner is 'said -to have given 4000 guineas for him. As Mountain Knight was run-ner-up to Land of Song, the form is first class, and it looks as if • the imported horse will have to be seriously considered in all the weight-for-age events at the coming meetings. On his showing on Saturday he will soon return his owner his purchase money, for no doubt he is capable of considerable improvement.

Mr. E. J, Watt is sending back Ventura and Tatterley to race hero, and the pair are expected by Tuesday's boat from Sydney. Football, who was shipped to.
