STEAMER SHELLED
BY SUBMARINE U2 Amterdam, February 10. Submarine U2 on Wednesday shelled the steamer Laertes off the Maas lightship. The captain raised the Dutch flag to protect many neutral passengers, and then steamed at full speed and escaped, the submarine firing a torpedo at her fruitlessly. ■ , [The Laertes is of 4541 tons, and fs owned by the.
