RESENTS CURTAILMENT OP SALARY. Perth, February 11. In the 'Assembly, Mr. Connolly, Liberal member for Perth, put forward a motion reducing the Parliamentary allowances to the level of four years ago ; reducing the pay of the Speaker, President, Chairman of Committees, and members by £100, and depriving Ministers of their pay as members. • The Premier (Mr. J. Scaddon) angrily opposed the motion, declaring that he earned his salary. (Rec. February 11, 11.15 p.m.) Perth, February 11. Tho Western Australian Assembly, after a stormy debate on a proposal to reduce members' salaries, carried en amendment for a further graduated temporary income tax. ' ' TRAGEDY IN SYDNEY BOAEDINGHODSE-KEEPBU SHOT. (Iteo. February 11, 9.30 p.m.) Sydney, February 11. A- tragedy has occurred at Dariinghurst. A man named Joseph Clsrton fatally shot Mrs.. Sullivan, a boardiiig-house-keeper, and then himself, inflict-' ing critical . wounds in the head. The cause of the tragedy is unknown. No one 'was present, at the time. Clayton had previously lodged with I Mrs. Sullivan, but left-6ome weeks ago, after a disagreement. . ,
