FIRE AT TOLAGO BAY

ARREST ON CHARGE OF ARSON. (By Telesra'ph;—Press Association.) Cisborne, February 9. A four-roomed cottage at Tolaga Bay ■was destroyed by fire this morning. The cottage was owned by Fitapatrick Bros., and was occupicd by Thomas Alfred Vowles. Tho insurances on the house are not ascertainable, but Vowles bad £75 in the Royal Office on his furniture. This afternoon Vowles was arrested on a charge of alleged arson. FIRE IN A HOTEL. Westport, February 9. An outbreak of fire occurred in tho Grand Hotel this ovening, resulting in damage to. the major portion of the right wing of. the hotel, including the new portion of the premises. The boarders escaped with slight loss. Insurance— Mrs. Turnbull (licensee), £600 oneffects in the Atlas office, and Nahr Brothers (owners of, the' premises) £500 on the part of the building affected by the fire.
