.WEEK-END MATCHES. KAROEI CLUB, The Kaiori Club fired the first four practices of tho service series at Trontham on Saturday aftornoon for a cup presented by Mrs. Halpin, and four trophies donated by tho club. This aerie® comprises tho annual musketry oourse laid down by tho Dofonco Dopartment for rifie clubs, with tho inclusion of throe practices from tho D.B A. 1011 programme. The scores mado by tho loading men on Saturday were rather better than those made in last year's competition, Itifleman F. W. Ching being at the top of the list with 93, J. Cox following on with 92, and H. V. Croxton third with 85. Colonel WolS, Inspector of .Rifle Clubs, was present during the afternoon and witnessed the "shoot." The club has purchased two good telephones, which were in use on Saturday, and hopes now to have got over the 'phone trouble experienced during the past five or six seasons. Tho Old Navals Eifle Club completed its Second Series Competition on their Miramar Bange on Saturday afternoon, and also the Championship and Handicap Aggregates (seven shots each at 300, 509, and COO yards). The day was a very trying one for the marksmen, a gusty ana changeable wind blowing most of the time. The championship was won by Pres. J. Elbe with a score of 645, the runner-up being Dep.-Pres. Harris, with a score of 618, Rflmn. F. E. Franklyn (last year's champion) being third with 609, and Eflnin. F. Standidge fourth with 606. The scores for the afternoon were as follow:— *R. Martin badges, Hugo's team beat Babe's team by 308 points against 209 points. At the oonclusion of the shooting cheers were given for Pres. Babe, winner of the "championship, and he was heartily congratulated on his fine performance for the season. • Next Saturday the club will fire their service matches on the Miramsr Range. SUBUBBS CLUB. The Suburbs Defence Eifle Club fired a series of class firing on Wednesday and Saturday afternoon, after which a sweepstake match took place.
