SHEARERS'UNION
Three ballots are at present taking place among the members of the New Zealand Shearers and' Woolshed Employees' Industrial Union of Workers. Tho "A" ballot deals with the elec- ; tion of president, for which position there are two candidates—Messrs. A, J. King (Timaru) and Jno. Townsend (Blenheim). . , The sccond ("B") ballot is for the election of delegates to the shearers' annual conference for 1915. The following are the nominees:—Messrs. W. T. Adair (Dimedin), Wm. Boone (Christchurch), Arthur Cook (Waimate), ■" T. Cartwright (Wellington), Chas. Garyndler (Woodville), C. R. Johnston (Ashburton),' W. Johnstone (Oamaru), J.'W. Keogh (Kurow), B'. Mitchem (Hampden), A. J. Middlemiss (Gore). Wm. M'Leruian (Blenheim), W. P. Swan (Hay, New South Wales) and ,F. R. Smitli YChristchii"ch) The third ("C") ballot is on the following issues:— - : (1) Are you in favour of amalgamation with the Farm Laub.ourerS Union? (2) Ate you in favour of increasing the price of 1 tickets to £1 for shearers and 10s. for generals: five shillings from each ticket' to go to a Labour paper, with which each member will be supplied? # "... ■ (3) At 6 you in favour of Joining the United Federation of Labour? The three' ballots close in Wellington <m February 28.'
