The New Zealand Loaa and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd.. report haring helo their usual monthly stock sale at Te Horo on Tuesday. There was «. good yarding, of sheep, cattle, 'and horses, and there wae <1 good clearance at the following rates-.— Sheep: Fat and forward wethers, 216.; fat and forward ewes, 16s. sd. to 16a. Id.; mixed age ewes (low condition), 125.; small woolly lambs, ss. Bd., ss. 10d., to 7s. Id. Cattle: Fat cows. £4 17s. to £3 Ks.; 6tore do., £} 10a., £3 15s„ £4, to £4 56.; two and a hallyear steers, £6 Is.; yearling do.. £3 14s, 6d.; weaner heifers (small), 15e.-, mixed weanere, 216.. 285.. 295.; springing heifer, £6. Hor6cs; liisht half-draughts, suitable spring cart £12, £16, £17 10s:, £18, £19 7a.. 6d., to £2010s. Messrs. W. and G. Turnbull and Co., Ltd., report haTing held their weekly sale in their Waipoua (Masterton) sale yards on Wednesday. A good yarding of 1500 sheep and 280 head cattle came forward, and was offered to a large attendance of buyers. Competition was -very keen thronghont the cale, and all the sheep, with the exception of 75 old ewee, were Raid at auction. and practically all the cattle changed hands. The following prices were 'realised:—Fat wethers, 205.; fat ewes, 16s. lid., 175., to 17s. 3d.; forward store ewes, 12e.; f.m. ewee,', 12s. 2d. to 12s. 4d.; poor condition ewes. Be. 6d.; six. eight, and f.in. ewes (low condition), lis. 2d.; b.f. lambs, good, 9s. lid.; medium, 7s. Id. to 7s. 3d.; woolly lambs, good, 9s. 2d.; medium, 7s. 3d., 7e. Bd., to 7s. lid.; culls. 4s. fid.: shorn lambs, 7s. lOd.; small, 2d.; small two-tooth wethers, 9e. 2d.; fat cows, £5 15s. to £6 10s.; fat heifers, £5 10s. to £6 lis.; forward heifers, £4 10s.; forward store cow 6. £4 9s. 6d. to £4 10s.; cows and calves, £4 3s. to £4 6e.; two-year-old steers, £5 Es. 6d.; yearling steers, £2 125.; steer calves, 235. We 6old on account of ino Belgian "Relief Fund. 10 fat ewes at- 16s. 15 d, each, donated by Mr. Neil M'Kay, and one pet lamb, donated by Mr. T. D. Allen's children. which reo-lieed £3 10s., after being cold several times. The total' for the day being £11 19s. 2d.
WEST COAST UAH PAIR. . (By Telegraph.—Ptcsr Association.) . , ' Felldlng, Fobruary 4. The YTesfc Ooaat mm fair was held here to-day, when neo-rly 2000 rams were en.tared. ■ -There were buyers present frpm Waikato, Taranaki, Ha.wke's Bay, Wairarapa, and Marlborough. Prices for good rams were satisfactory, poorer qualitiea not being in demand. The highest price realised was 34 guineas for a Komney ram, sold on behalf .of Mr! W. 6. Pearce. The highest price for a Lincoln , ram was 25 guineas, sold.on behalf of Llr. W. Haynor.
