OFFICIAL RESULT DUE ON MONDAY. __ (By Teleeranh.—Press Association.) Dunedin, February 4. Information l as been received by the Returning Officer for Dunedin Central that 230 absent voters' permits and 54 seamen's votes were exercised yesterday. One permit is on its way from a district north of Auckland. The official count will probably be commenced tomorrow morning, and it is likely that the official result will be known on Monday.

The rival parties appear to agree with the popular belief that a majority of the absent votes have beep cast for Mr. Statham.
