TROUBLE WITH FERRY SERVICE FIREMEN. After causing mucE inconvenience to tho travelling public, as well as tho business community as a whole, the troublo with the firemen on board the Ferry steamer Maori is practically ended. The secretary of tho Seamen's Union returned to Wellington from Lytlelton yesterday morning, and in answer to a question said that the troublo was over and done with; The Maori will sign on a new , crew, and it is anticipated that union men will make up tho complement. There is no chance of the troublo Bpreading, as the majority of tho stokehold crews on other steamers did not hold with the action taken oy their fellow-unionists. It has been decided to maintain the Pateena in the ferry service till the Maori gets her new crew. As there is a decided shortage of firemen at present, it is likely that the Maori will not begin running till tho beginning of next week.
