NATIONAL RESERVE
A meeting of the District Executive Committee of the Wellington Branch of the National Reserve was held yesterday; in order to meet Colonel Robin and discuss with him various matters of detail in connection with the new regulations just issued from Defence Headquarters. Colonel Robin explained at considerable length the position occupied by the National Reserve in the Dominionj and dealt fully w.ith the special directions in which it would, under discreet management, be of great use to the Defence authorities and of much service to the Dominion. The committee are now in a much stronger position to attack the many details of organisation necessary to perfect the success which has hitherto attended the formation of the reserve. Colonel Robin was accorded a very hearty vote of thanks for his courtesy. The increasing interest that is being taken in the movement is evidenced by the large attendances at the meetings ihat are being held almost every night in one or other of the enrolling centres. On Friday night two such meetings are to be held, one for the Wellington East centre at the Clyde ■ Quay School, and another for the Thorndon and Wadestown centre at the Sydney Street Schoolroom.
