Y.M.C.A. BOY'S DEPARTMENT

Mr. Eglin gave an address to a large number of boys at the opening meeting of the Y.M.C.A. Boys' Department, taking as his subject "The True Ideal." His remarks were listened to most attentively.

The various activities of the department are now again ■in full swings and despite the hot weather the basket-ball contests on Tuesdays are being keenly contested. ,

Cricket and swimming are the popular outside games, and' the footballers are looking forward to the annual match against Auckland at Easter.

Two cups, to be known as the "Ponman Challenge Cups" have been given to the department for competition.

The annual camp is again being held at Waikauae, and preliminary arrangements are well in hand. Altogether everything augure well for a most successful year.
