NEW ZEALANDERS ABROAD.
PERSONAL NOTES FROM LONDON. London, December 17. Mrs. Hutton, wife of the late Captain Hutton, of New Zealand, has four sons with the Expeditionary 'Force, three in the New Zealand, and one in the Australian section.
Lord Islington, late Governor of New Zealand, recently delivered an address at the matinee in aid of the War Emergency Entertainment Fund at the Carlton Hotel. 1 Mr. Leo. Myers, of Auckland, was amongst the speakers at the National Service dinner given at Lyceum Club last week, others being Captain SmitliDorrion, R.N., and Lieul-Coloncl R, Bek.
Mr. and Mrs. John Hunter Brown, of Hawko's Bay, and Miss Hunter Brown, have motored all through England, Scotland, and Ireland during their five months' stay over here. They intend returning to New Zealand by the Mongolia at the end of January. Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Barrett, of Christchurch, and their two daughters, spent June and July on the Continent, arriving back in London a fow days before, war was declared. They are in Torquay for the winter, and intend to return to New Zealand about October next. »
Mrs. Charles E. Fabian, of WelKng.ton, who came to England six weeks ago with her son, John, to consult an ear specialist, went on to Edinburgh, wliere they were the guests of her cousin, Dr. Dickson Muir. They are at present in London, but after Christmas intend going to Ireland. They probably leave on their return to New Zealand in January.
Miss L. Snow, daughter of Colonel Snow, of Christehurcli, left New Zealand a year ago for India, where' she stayed with her sister, Mrs. Salkeld. On account of tho war they left India in September, and have since been staying with their cousin, Colonel Salkeld, at Blnndford, in Dorset. They have also visited another relative, Mrs. St. George Hamorsley. who is well-known in New Zealand.
Mr. and Mrs. Spence, of Invercareill, who came to England some time ago with Miss Dorothy Spence, spent several months on the Continent, and this year visitodthe "United States and Canada, returning to England just before war was declared. They havo now taken a fiat at Hamnstf,ad, where Miss Spence fi studying singing at the Hanrostead Conservatorium. They spend Christmas and the New Year at Lyme Regis, in Dorset.
