TESTING THE 1915 B.S.A. Tho B.S.A. Company is a great believer in. gaining first-hand information concerning the road conditions in tho countries where B.S.A. motor-cycles are nsed, and Mr. D. Y. Rennie, the firm's travelling representative, was recently sent to New Zealand to spy out the land. Messrs. Adams, Ltd., planned a. trip for Mr. Rennio which would demoastrate the difficulties that "beset the New Zealand motor cyclist in quite a striking manner. With Mr. G. B. Brown, Mr. Rennie took a B.S.A. 4}h.p.. single-cylinder motorcycle three-speed countershaft gear (of conrse) and side-car from Ckristchurch through Arthur's Pass to Otira, Kumara, Murchison, Nelson, Blenheim, Glenhope, Seddon, Kaikoura, Waiau. and Hanmcr, EOO miles, all overland. The trip was a tough one, bat the B.S.A. and side-car (weighing SOOlb. with passengers), enmo through magnificently. The capabilities of the 3-speed gear were fully demonstrated, and so pleased were Messrs. Adams, Ltd., with the result of this gruelling "try-out" (hat they cabjod trebling their standing orders for B.S.A. motor-cycles.
