TORRENTIAL RAIN
BREAKUP OF DROUGHT. (By Telegraph—Presa Association.) Auckland! January 29; Anniversary. Day was marked by the breaking of the drought, torrential rain fafling from an early hour .throughout the day. In spite of the weather the races at Takapuna and the Auckland regatta were held, but the fixtures were shorn of much of their interest. The picture shows secured much of the patronage which would otherwise have been given to outdoor functions. The rain, however unpleasant for . the holidaymakers, was worth its weight in gold to the farmers. „
