SEATOUN TRAMWAY SERVICE.

Sir, —As a resident of Seatoun for many years and using the cars every day, Sunday included, I am sure you will allow me a few lines with regard to the complaints that have appeared in your columns of late. I would liko to point out to tlioso who complain that since the cars began to run very many improvements havo been made in the service, and no doubt mil continue to bo made. During the summer season, there is always a heavy traffic to the seaside, which wo ratepayers are very glad to see, for many reasons, but as Seatoun is now going ahead by leaps and bounds the service must be kept up to date. With regard to overcrowding my experience is that most of the trouble is caused by filling up the cars with Kilbirnie people, and very often Seatoun people are crowded out of their own cars and left behind to wait another half-hour or more. What is needed at rush time is :n extra through fare to tJ>e boundary, and a Kilbirnie car nui immediately in front of the Seatoun car, not behind it, as is now so often the.case I am not blaming the Kilbirme people, as they hafe a perfect right to use the Seatoun cars, but it is a question of management. Ticket inspection is badly needed over the Miramar lines, and the by-law prohibiting smoking on the centre platform should be strictly enforced. As a whole the time-table is well adhered to, the conductors are civil, and do all they can for the comfort ana safety of their passengers.—l am, etc., . A RESIDENT OF SEATOUN. Seatoun, January 29, 1915.
