RIFLE-SHOOTING.

The Karpri Rifle Club will conclude its first series ut Trentham on Saturday, over ranges 500 and 600. yards for trophies. Members will travel by the usual train at 1.40 p.m. from Lumbton station.' Some consternation was caused the shooting mon of Wellington this week when they received an intimation that the railway passes for their usual shooting at Trentham would not be available until further notice. The special train has, of course, run weekly for years'past. The chairman of the New Zealand llifle Club's executive at once took the matter up with Colonel Gibbon, Chief of Staff, who promptly gave instructions that the passes were to bo issued as usual. The special train will therefore run at the'ordinary time on Saturday.
