THE DIAMOND JUBILEE CELEBRATIONS
The Diamond Jubilee Carnival, which was postponed on account of the bad weather, will lake place at Newtown Park on Saturday afternoon next, commencing at 2 p.m. The chief events will bo a costume cricket match, Pakelia. v. Maori, West Coasters' mining display, athletic s[>orts, dancing competitions (judge, Miss Flora Shaw), and (several baby shows. Many very amusing sido-shows have been arranged, including poke de Kaiser, just over from Sydney, whe;re it had a great run. Altogether a most enjoyable day's programme has been arranged.
