AN EXPLANATION. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) Taihape, January 27. In reply to the Press Association re? port from Wanganui about typhoid at 'l'aihape, it is true the local hospital has five cases, but only one of these is local, the other four being from Oha-* lame. The death reported was that of a Obakune patient. During November there was one caso of typhoid at Taihape and none in December. The Health Officer report? that Taihape was clear of typhoid last month. It must bo remembered that Taihape Hospital cases cannot be all classed as referring to Taihape, as the local hospital deals with cases over an oxtensivo area, it being the only hospital between Taumarunui, Palmerstou, and Wanganui, The five now cases referred to como from Raetihi. „ |
